63 (who?)
Forever England by ChrisRawlins Forever England by ChrisRawlins
If I should die, think only this of me:
That there's some corner of a foreign field
That is for ever England.
There shall be in that rich earth a richer dust concealed;
A dust whom England bore, shaped, made aware,
Gave, once, her flowers to love, her ways to roam,
A body of England's, breathing English air,
Washed by the rivers, blest by suns of home.

And think, this heart, all evil shed away,
A pulse in the eternal mind, no less
Gives somewhere back the thoughts by England given;
Her sights and sounds; dreams happy as her day;
And laughter, learnt of friends; and gentleness,
In hearts at peace, under an English heaven.

Thank you for introducing me to this poem. It is without a doubt one of the best I have ever read.

Wonderful. Really emotive. I always find that ''the loss of war'' is a subject particularly rich in Art, however terrible it is.
And one of my favourite poems too? My, good work.

I love that poem so much, it is beautiful and amazing.... if I were to die for a country it would indeed be England.

Nice feeling of emotion and sweet idea.

Hah - No it's not me. The images come from all over the place. Mostly just Google image search. It's the most laborious part of creating these images. Finding the right pics takes hours. The guy in this pic is made up of several images. The head, hands torso are all from different people and stuck together. It was impossible to find a picture of a dead Tommy in colour, let alone from this perspective. Re-enactment sites are pretty good for finding peole in military uniforms.

heh, or you could own one like me :D well if you need dead tommies for the future, i might make some stocks like that, another guy wants similar, but its not easy to do well....

as for your pic, you'd never know! it's really convincing! let me guess though, the khaki chums were involved right? :D
