Only the Dead For Company by ChrisRawlins Only the Dead For Company by ChrisRawlins
I long for scenes where man has never trod,
A place where woman never smiled or wept;
There to abide with my Creator, God,
And sleep as I in childhood sweetly slept:
Untroubling and untroubled where I lie,
The grass below - above the vaulted sky.

John Clare - 1793-1864

Very good. The one and only critique I'd give is concerning the rifle we see protruding from the right side of the picture. The muzzle indicates a Lee-Enfield N4, Mk I, first issued in 1939 to British Armed Forces. It should have been a Lee-Enfield Mk III, the same as the one fired by the soldier on the left.

Then again, apart that, strictly nothing to report. Excellent job.

Wow...your stuff is not only extremely well done, but also very deep. I love the poems you post along with the work, it gives it a greater emotional depth. Excellent work, as usual!! :thumbsup:

Excellent work! Only thing bothering me is that right Lee-Enfield No. 4 Mk I that wasn't in the service yet.

Are you stalking me? ;)
I just noticed the gun, because it's clearly there and there are other cases where artists have made the same error...
